Group photo from our recent trip for the game versus Kilmarnock.
With Over 40 members in attendance(a few were too sick from the previous nights festivitie to rise in time for the group photo outside St Mary’s Church) a great weekend was had by all.
What started out years ago originally as an Xmas outing for a handful is now annually looking like turning into one of our focal points of each season – numbers that are travelling for it are growing year on year.
The weekend kicked off with most of the group meeting in Cork Airport(some travelled via Dublin) only to be informed we were facing a 2 hour delay – unperturbed what else could we to do but enjoy the hospitality in the Last Call bar(and in some cases the duty free)
The delay turned out to be over 5 hrs but eventually we made it to Glasgow in extremely high spirits.
After checking into our various hotels etc the night carried on in Kelly’s and St Vincents with Steve Bowen and Emma from Cork and Frank Cullen and the rest of the Father Murphy CSC from Arklow.
Saturday greeted most of us with sick heads from the night beforebut most as you can see made it to the rendezvous point for the photo.
The match was a clinical display as Kilmarnock were put firmly back in their box in the top of the table clash.
Festivities continued long into the evening in The Squirrel bar where our club crest is proudly displayed on the wall.
Sunday was muted as expected with a lot of sick bodies after the weekend but a few die hards(pities) made it back to club HQ The Ferry Arms to close things out.
From Blondie/Vicki handing out headache tablets/glasses of water to some of our poor members , Barry Murray falling out of his top bunk bed, Basil having to share his bed on both nights, one nameless member turning up to the right room number but wrong hotel and the younger lads generally keeping the whole of floor 2 in the Eurohostel awake.
Special mention to Lindsay McLean for looking after Colly and Sean on match day.
Safe to say a lot of great memories from a great trip with great friends some old some new
Until the next one
Hail Hail
